Falling film evaporators are used primarily to evaporate temperature sensitive products. Therefore the driving temperature difference between the heating and evaporation side is selected as low. When evaporating the thin, downward flowing falling film in the tubes, good heat transmission values and low dwell times are achieved. Special baffles in the tubes ensure constant sprinkling of each single tube.

This construction type is also suitable for the cooling and accumulation of ammonia liquor with NH3.
