Degassing produces a guaranteed residual oxygen content of less than 0.02 mg/l. Heating steam is used for the operating and is normally supplied via a distributor system in the feed water vessel.

Additional vapour deposition for the start up operation is available.

The feed water vessel is generally designed as a horizontal vessel. The degasser is flanged vertically onto the vessel.
